Joint meeting of two EV societies: "The good, the bad, and the unknown!"

10/9/2024

From September 6-7, 2024, our OH-BOOST team journeyed from Tartu, Estonia, to Riga, Latvia, to participate in the much-anticipated joint conference hosted by the Baltic Society of Extracellular Vesicles (BSEV) and the Polish Society for Extracellular Vesicles (PSEV). The theme, "The Good, the Bad, and the Unknown – The Roles of EVs in Health and Disease," set the stage for deep discussions on the complex roles extracellular vesicles (EVs) play in health and disease.
Our team made significant contributions, with notable presentations that caught attention. Kasun Madhuranga Goda Godagedara presented the industrial-scale production of milk-derived EVs, while Dulmini N. Sapugahawatte explored the use of EVs as natural solutions against antimicrobial resistance. The success of our team was further highlighted when Madhusha Prasadani received an award for her outstanding poster presentation, showcasing her continuous dedication to EV research. Deep Bhattacharya and Gayandi Ekanayake also shared innovative poster presentations, adding to the vibrant exchange of ideas.
With participants from all over the globe, the event was a melting pot of research excellence, packed with discussions ranging from the promise of EV-based therapeutics to the challenges of EV scaling. As we reflect on the event, we proudly celebrate our team’s achievements and look forward to further unraveling the mysteries of EVs in health and disease.
